Ceremonies

There's no limit to the kind of ceremonies a celebrant can perform, whether it's a wedding, a promotion at work, or welcoming a new pet to the family, a celebrant can perform a ceremony. But to list everything just wouldn't be possible, so here's some of the most popular ceremonies a celebrant will perform.

Weddings

Although celebrants in England can't legally marry you (yet anyway, that will hopefully change soon) we can give you something a registrar can't: freedom!

With a registrar, there are rules that limit your entire ceremony, even your music. With a celebrant, you have complete freedom. Your ceremony will be written to compliment your personalities, you can write your own vows, and choose whatever music your want!

On top of this, I will provide support throughout the entire process, whether it's help writing vows, finding suppliers, or just help setting up.

Funerals and Memorials

Organizing a funeral or memorial for a loved one is one of the hardest things a person can do, and that's why I'm here. I will create and perform the ceremony with dignity and respect, and be there to support you.

A good celebrant will always be just at the other end of the phone if you ever need to talk things through, or vent your frustrations. As I said, it can be a difficult time for any number of reasons, so lending an ear is the least I can do.

Naming Ceremonies

A naming ceremony is a wonderful, non-religious way or welcoming a new family member, and generally introducing your child to your extended family. Most commonly this is a baby, but this can also of course include adopted children.

Popular things to include in this include promises to your child from yourself, grandparents, and others closest to you, showing gratitude to everyone who helped you through, and presenting the baby with gifts.

Unity Rituals

Unity rituals are have become increasingly popular in the past few years, and continue to become more and more so. A unity ritual is something symbolic to show the unity between two people, this can be incorporated into a wedding ceremony, or done completely separately. Some examples of this include:

- Handfasting: Ceremony: A ribbon is tied around the couples hands to symbolize their union.

- Tree-planting Ceremony: The couple plant a tree together to symbolize the beginning of a new chapter in a relationship.

 - Candle Ceremony: The couple each taken a smaller candle and light the wicks of a larger "family" candle.

Pet Memorials

Sometimes, those closest to us might not even be human, even our furry or scaly family members deserve a fond farewell from those who love them.

These are very similar to human memorials, just usually on a much smaller scale.

Corporate Events

As I said, anything can be celebrated. This can also include retirement parties to thank those who worked so hard, awards ceremonies, or maybe even just to celebrant a milestone, such as opening a new branch, or making all your goals for the year!
